Time Running Out for Miracle to
Defend League Title
If the Fort Myers Miracle baseball
team wants to reach post-season play
and defend their 2014 Florida State
League Title, they have little more than
three weeks to accomplish the task.
As the week began, the Miracle had a
24-21 second-half season record, trailing
first-place Palm Beach by 6-1/2 games.
Fort Myers must win the league’s second-
half South Division title to reach the play-
offs as Charlotte captured the champion-
ship in the first-half.
Only the division winners in the first
and second half qualify for the playoffs.
Fort Myers has the chance to close
the gap on Palm Beach this weekend as
the Cardinals come to Hammond Stadi-
um for three games – Thursday, Friday
and Saturday nights.
The Miracle travel to Charlotte Sun-
day and then host the Stone Crabs Mon-
day and Tuesday.

deflation looms, they will be reluctant to
raise interest rates too soon. As for their
full-employment mandate, the commit-
tee’s current conclusion is that we are on
track to meeting that mandate sooner
rather than later.
In summary, then, we continue to
view the economic tea leaves as suggest-
ing “a little more of the same” – a little
more economic and profit growth world-
wide, continued unusually low interest
rates, more opportunity for equity asset
growth and continued investor caution.
